Counting Week at Stittsville library
Tracking how the library is used
November 17, 2008

Do you want to feel like you are a somebody? Do you want to feel like you count for something? Well, the Stittsville branch of the Ottawa Public Library is just the place for you.

Each year the provincial Ministry of Culture asks public library branches across Ontario to track information about the ways in which public libraries are used.

This year the week of November 17 to November 23 has been designated as Counting Week for 2008.

Staff at the Stittsville branch of the Ottawa Public Library are participating in this Counting Week, recording various information.

The information being recorded includes the number of library visits; the types of questions asked about programming, assistive services, collections, library procedures and polices; and who is asking these questions i.e. children, youth or adults.

If you want to feel like a somebody, like you count for something, drop into the Stittsville library branch this week and be counted. All residents of Stittsville and area are urged to drop in sometime during the week and help the Stittsville library branch provide the provincial Ministry of Culture with statistics that show that the branch is a well used mecca for information and enjoyment for Stittsville and area residents.
