It’s back again. One of the most popular events in Munster. And this year’s promises to be right up there with the best of them.
It’s the 18th annual Christmas Craft and Home Party Show which is being held at the Munster Elementary School on Thursday, November 20 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
It is going to have all of the features and attractions which has made this event an annual destination for people in the community at large, drawing shoppers from across the Ottawa area as well as from the Munster area.
This year there will be over 30 crafters and home party vendors present, offering a large selection of items for sale, all great for gift giving at Christmas which will be just over a month away. These items will include stained glass, tole painted items for both indoor and outdoor use, jewellery, quilts, artwork and art cards.
The Munster Christmas Craft and Home Party Show has become known over the years for the quality and variety of its vendors and this year will be no exception.
Also back again this year will be Frosty’s Restaurant. Indeed, dinner at Frosty’s has become an annual event for many families.
Frosty’s Restaurant, which is run by the grade five students of Munster Elementary School, features a light dinner menu which includes chili, salad, roast beef sandwiches, chicken chips and, get ready for it, homemade pie for dessert.
This year both staff and student alumni of Munster Elementary School are being invited to work a shift at Frosty’s Restaurant.
But this is not all at the Christmas Craft and Home Party Show in Munster.
There will also be a bake table which will offer some of Munster’s best home baking.
The ever-popular silent auction will return this year for the sixth year, once again offering lots of items, ensuring that bidders will find something special just for them.
This Christmas Craft and Home Party Show is the major fundraising event of the year for the Munster Elementary School. It happens because of the hard work of a dedicated group of volunteers and overwhelming support from local businesses, the community at large and the school community. Joni Newman is the craft show coordinator.
Funds raised from the Christmas Craft and Home Party Show will go to help fund resources for literacy and numeracy programs at the school as well as helping to purchase audio-visual equipment for the school.
Admission to the Christmas Craft and Home Party Show at the Munster Elementary School on Thursday, November 20 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. will be two dollars at the door or a donation of a non-perishable food item for the food bank. Those under 12 years of age will be admitted free of charge.
